Afriški kulturni center was established in 2011. The mission of the center is very wide, because under its basic activity in the fields of culture and art it is targeted towards the culture of life in the sense of knowing, expressing and functioning and consequentially achieving better quality and culture of life. With this purpose we organize individual counseling sessions, education and trainings in Slovenia as well as abroad. Our approach is based on the values of the African people of Yoruba. Their heritage has been protected by Unesco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. There we found strong parallels with values of our ancestors that, unfortunately, degenerated in today’s consumer society. We strive to re-teach people to respect their property – physically in the sense of body, home and work; mentally in the sense of intellect, knowledge, knowing and wisdom; emotionally in the sense of quality of relationships and spiritually in the sense of attitude towards one’s own past, past of one’s nation etc.

At the same time we also cooperate in the field of intercultural cooperation between Europe and Africa. We are issuing a magazine with the title Oriša and with its content we attribute to understanding different cultures and respecting diversities that enrich all humanity.
